19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”
21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, 23 and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.
“Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Yes! Jesus the Messiah.
Just as those seeking Moses’ life had died (Exodus 4) Moses then returned to Egypt to lead God’s people out so that they might worship Yahweh; so to, God brought Jesus out of Egypt, after Herod died, to Israel to one day give his life as a ransom for many at Golgotha so that He would bring Glory to God the Father and reconcile lost sinners back to their Creator Lord.
Are you thankful for this great reality, this great truth? God fulfilled His promises from Genesis to Revelation. The Promise of the Holy Spirit is sealed in your heart today, I pray. Ask the Lord today (I will too), “Father, How can I bring YOU the MOST Glory today?” Let us begin walking in that now.
Open His Word and Enjoy!
