Greetings

An old beech tree

I’d like to say Thank You for stopping by.

I hope you benefit from what you read on this blog.

Why is this blog called “living upon the tree”? Well, in How to Read the Bible by Charles Spurgeon, he writes, “The word of God is always most precious to the man who most lives upon it.” He shares a story about a squirrel who lives in an old beech tree. The tree provides shelter and food. All that the squirrel needs comes from this tree. There is a parallel here for the traveler. The one who is sheltered and fed by the very words of God. This is my goal. To live upon the tree. Not a beech tree – I’m not a squirrel! But to live upon the very words of God. They are my shelter and my manna.

Happy reading.
